Apple Watch fitness challenge on International Yoga Day

Apple will inform Apple Watch wearers about the upcoming fitness challenge with a push notification. You’ll need to complete at least a 10-minute yoga workout to win a virtual medal and four animated stickers depicting stretching and mindfulness.

The preinstalled Workout app features yoga tracking for all types of yoga sessions, from restorative to power vinyasa flow. But you can also use any third-party app to log your yoga sessions as long as it saves data into the system’s Health database.

Join in on the International Day of Yoga. On June 21, do a yoga workout of 10 minutes or more, and you’ll earn this award. Record your time with any app that adds workouts to Health.

You should practice yoga

According to Wikipedia, the International Day of Yoga is observed annually globally on June 21, the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.

Yoga is a collection of physical, mental and spiritual practices that originated in ancient India. Nowadays, yoga is practiced worldwide, especially Hatha yoga, which benefits physical health, and asanas, which are body-posture relaxation techniques.
