The Sims 4 offers a lot of ways to use fruit and veg, from creating meals from scratch to crafting juice or baking cakes, produce has a lot of uses in the game. There are also many different ways to acquire it: gardening, foraging or purchasing.
In Horse Ranch, strawberries have got a new use, alongside their place in baking, being one of the best ingredients to use for creating high-value nectar. Here are all the ways you can find some and their uses.
Where To Forage For Strawberries
There are many places to forage for strawberries in the world, but the easiest one is right in Willow Creek.
Simply go to the Daisy Hovel starter home then walk to the back of the lot down the path on the right-hand side of the house. Turn right at the t-junction and walk past the BFF lot. Just ahead is a small community garden with four planters. A strawberry plant is in the planter marked in the image above and should give you six strawberries.
You can also find them in Magnolia Blossom Park and Sylvan Glade.
Where To Buy Strawberries
Where you can get strawberries will depend on the DLC that you own. If you have Horse Ranch then the easiest way to purchase Strawberries is to click on a nectar maker and select Purchase Basic Ingredients. This will bring up a menu enabling you to buy apples, grapes, lemons, potatoes and strawberries which will go straight into your inventory. Strawberries purchased this way cost $44 each.
For those with Cottage Living, you can get a variety of produce delivered from the grocery delivery service. This is done through your Sim’s phone where it cost $20 per order to get groceries delivered. There is a wide range of products which includes strawberries priced at $48.
Alternatively, take a trip to The Gnome’s Arms in Henford-On-Bagley and you can purchase strawberries for the regular price of $44 each from the Grocery Stall just outside.
If you have Seasons, then at level four gardening skill you can purchase Seasonal Spring Plants and Fruits for $100 a packet. You will get 3 – 4 plants or fruits that are harvestable in the Spring. Strawberries are one of the more common items, but it can still take two or three packets to get some, making this an expensive option.
How To Grow Strawberries
All you need to grow strawberries is one strawberry. The easiest and cheapest way to get one is to forage in Willow Creek. Once you have the strawberry you need to find either a patch of soil outside or purchase a garden pot for $50 which holds one plant, or a garden planter for $200 which holds four.
If you have Seasons, Strawberries will only grow in Spring, unless they have a roof above them, which gives them a sheltered tag.
You don’t need walls as you can place a roof on a room and then remove the walls or swap them for fences and posts.
To plant a strawberry simply drag it from your inventory and then place it into the pot or onto the ground. If the area is suitable for planting you can select the strawberry to see the options to eat strawberry or plant. Assuming you don’t select eat by accident, your Sim will plant the strawberry and a pile of soil will appear in its place. You may then need to select it again for them to water it.
Strawberries take just over 5 days to grow and yield six per harvest. Over that time you’ll need to check them each day in case they need to be watered, weeded, or sprayed for bugs.
You can also fertilize plants with manure, fish, or even other plants. This will help them reach a higher quality faster, Plants can then be evolved from normal to nice, excellent, magnificent and eventually perfect. Higher quality plants produce higher quality produce which can be sold for more. However, quality does not change how often a plant can be harvested.

Eating strawberries and listening to pop music when pregnant can also increase a Sim’s change of having a baby girl.
