Telegram is finally introducing a business account feature that offers an array of business-friendly features for any user. It includes features like opening hours, automated messages, quick replies, and more. The firm also introduced Telegram Bot API 7.2, letting developers add business features to their bot.

Telegram Business Features

Open Timings & Location: Users can set the hours of operation and show their location on a map to give customers a quick overview of the operation. The UI will also show the shop/business Open/Close feature in a highlighted manner.

Start Page

Start Page: Businesses can also have a custom start page that contains text – a tagline about their product/service, and stickers. This helps in attracting customers/users.

Greeting Messages & Away Messages: This lets users set a default greeting message when customers contact them for the first time. They can specify a period after which a new message will result in their greeting being sent again. In the same way, users can also set custom-away messages when the business is closed.

Quick Replies

Quick Replies: Quick replies are shortcuts for sending preset messages that may contain several messages and support text formatting, links, stickers, media, and files. This feature comes in handy when replying to repetitive queries from customers like menu, payment, etc.

Colored labels: Businesses can add colored labels to chats, giving them unique tags based on the chat folders they are in. In this way, businesses can keep track of their customers based on priority, status, and needs.

Links to Chat

Links to Chat: This feature lets businesses create links to pre-defined chat. When tapped by the customer, it will open a new chat with an already set message in the input bar. In this way, you can create links that create a button to reserve a table or track an order.

Chatbots

Chatbots for Business: Businesses can also leverage Telegram’s powerful bot integration, allowing businesses to seamlessly integrate any existing tools and workflows, or add AI assistants that manage their chats. You can refer to the Bot Manual for more information.

Availability

These new business features are only available to Telegram Premium subscribers. The company also promises new features for businesses in the upcoming updates.
