One Legend of Zelda fan has taken to the internet to give their thoughts on what would be a fun Hyrule adventure, and it sounds a lot like a crossover with Stardew Valley. That shouldn’t be seen as a knock either, as Stardew Valley is widely considered to be one of the best cozy farming games available today.

The Legend of Zelda franchise is still on the minds of many gamers who continue to explore the massive open world in Tears of the Kingdom. Because of this, many fans are uploading their epic creations, crafting fan theories, and even coming up with their own ideas for what the future of the series could or should look like.

Reddit user ICantFindAUsernamz gives their idea for the next spinoff title in the Legend of Zelda franchise which involves going about day-to-day life and rebuilding Hyrule as Link and Princess Zelda. The creative fan still imagines that the game would contain some occasional combat, but most of the campaign would consist of assisting the citizens of Hyrule and helping the land recover after the events of Tears of the Kingdom. Naturally, the Redditor took their idea to the Tears of the Kingdom community so other fans could give their thoughts.

As the top commenter notes, the game sounds an awful lot like a cross between The Legend of Zelda and Stardew Valley. Others have likened the idea to other cozy sims like Animal Crossing. Either way, it appears as though fans are on board with the mashup idea. It does make some sense too as the franchise hasn’t been afraid to experiment before, and a life sim could certainly rank toward the top of genres The Legend of Zelda should explore.

Generally speaking, Nintendo’s more experimental Zelda titles are pretty well received. Between titles like Hyrule Warriors and Cadence of Hyrule, The Legend of Zelda is easily one of the Nintendo franchises with the best spinoff titles. It’s impossible to say if a cozy life sim could be next for the Zelda franchise, but it probably wouldn’t be the most out-of-left-field choice from the Big N in recent memory.

Between games like Mario + Rabbids and Pokemon Snap, there are plenty of spinoff titles from Nintendo that have gone on to be major hits. The Mario Kart franchise is technically a spinoff, but that hasn’t stopped Mario Kart 8 Deluxe from topping the list of the best-selling Nintendo Switch games. If The Legend of Zelda franchise does get another offshoot title, the proven track record suggests it will be worth a try, at the very least.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now for Nintendo Switch.
