Persona Fans Should Be Excited for September 21

Persona fans may want to keep an eye on September 21, as that is the date where Sega and Atlus will be having something special prepared at the Tokyo Game Show event. While it didn’t announce a full lineup of what will be shown, it states it will feature the newest titles coming from Sega and Atlus. This likely includes some of the titles that were previously highlighted at events like Gamescom and Summer Game Fest.

With the conclusion of Gamescom, there are only a few industry events left happening in the year. One of these will be Tokyo Game Show 2023, which will be taking place this September and involves a number of Japanese developers and publishers. Capcom has already confirmed its lineup for TGS 2023, which primarily includes the Resident Evil 4 remake VR port, the Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy, and Street Fighter 6, among other games. Sega has also confirmed its presence at the event, along with a special Sega New broadcast.

According to the official web page regarding Sega and Tokyo Game Show, it states that there is a special TGS broadcast of Sega New happening on September 21, 2023. Sega New is a monthly broadcast from the company’s YouTube channel, with this stream promising new information on the newest titles from Sega and Atlus. It’s likely a safe bet that the Persona 3 remake will be at Tokyo Game Show, considering Atlus recently revealed Persona 3 Reload‘s release date at Gamescom earlier this August.

Another safe bet would be Persona 5 Tactica, the upcoming tactics-based strategy RPG that is slated for this November. Asides from these two Persona games, Sega will likely be giving new information regarding its other games in its release schedule such as Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, Sonic Superstars, and the Xbox console exclusive Metaphor: ReFantazio. That being said the full lineup of games hasn’t been announced yet and this is mostly speculation based on past industry events.

Alongside a streaming event, the developer and publisher will be physically present at the event with its own booth. While Tokyo Game Show is running throughout September 21-24, the public will get access to the event on the final two days. Based on last year’s TGS, Japanese fans in attendance will likely have access to a playable demo of Persona 3 Reload or other games currently lined up in Sega’s schedule for the near future.
