Qualcomm, a prominent player in the mobile technology sector, has officially confirmed the launch of its much-anticipated Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. The company has scheduled its annual Snapdragon Summit to be held in Maui, Hawaii, from October 24 to October 26.

Renowned smartphone manufacturers such as Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo have already expressed their intentions to incorporate the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 into their flagship smartphones, ensuring an exceptional user experience.

Smartphone Manufacturers Incorporating the Chip

According to the credible Chinese tipster, Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 14 series is poised to be the first to feature Qualcomm’s upcoming chip in November. Subsequently, the Vivo X100 series, iQOO 12 series, Redmi K70 series, OnePlus 12, and Realme GT5 are expected to follow suit in the subsequent months.

Performance Improvements

An early Geekbench listing provided some intriguing details about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. The leaked scores indicate a significant boost in CPU performance compared to its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Impressively, the upcoming chipset achieved a single-core score of 1,930 and a multi-core score of 6,236. This represents a remarkable 25% increase in CPU performance.

On the GPU front, Digital Chat Station reported that the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC will be equipped with a 50% more powerful GPU than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2’s Adreno 740.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will feature a 1x Cortex-X4 prime core paired with 5x Cortex-A720 cores, 2x Cortex-A520 cores, and an Adreno 750 GPU, promising significant performance improvements. Furthermore, the CPU package will see an update in its L3 cache, increasing from 8MB to 10MB.

As the launch date approaches, more details about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset are expected to emerge.
