The latest entry in the popular Final Fantasy franchise, Final Fantasy XVI, is set to launch on June 22 for PlayStation 5 users. The title’s developer and publisher Square Enix has rolled out a demo for PlayStation users ahead of the game’s launch. The playable demo was announced during the Final Fantasy XVI pre-launch celebration event. PlayStation Store users can currently download the playable demo version of the upcoming RPG game.

Final Fantasy 16 demo: Key details
The playable demo version of the upcoming title includes two segments from the full game which are divided into four hours. This first segment is set during a playable prologue of the game. Meanwhile, the second part of the demo is more action focused and is based on a mission that shows Clive’s infiltration of a fort.

The saved data from the first part of the demo can be carried forward to the full game when it launches later this month. However, players need to note that the game’s saved data from the second part of the demo will not be transferred to the final game. Unlike the prologue, the second part of the demo takes place later in the story which will primarily focus on showcasing the combat of the game and will be packed with action sequences.

“The demo will give PlayStation 5 players a taste of the game’s vibrant world and fast-paced action combat with two lengthy sections showcasing what you can expect from FFXVI,” the PlayStation blog claims.

The game’s opening prologue, which is nearly two and a half hours of gameplay will offer players an insight into Clive Rosfield’s past and the events that set him on his present journey.

Players who complete the first part will be able to unlock a special battle demo. This two-hour part will feature an infiltration of a fort at night, with Clive supported on his mission by his faithful wolf Torgal and Cidolfus Telamon.

In this part, players will encounter various enemies and epic bosses. The second part of the demo will allow players to test out the entire range of combat options (which will include multiple unlocked abilities and accessories). Players can replay this part as many times as they’d like. This will give players a head start on experiencing Clive’s full-fledged action battles.
