Elon Musk may need a surgery ahead of his fight with Mark Zuckerberg

On Monday, Elon Musk said he might need surgery before his highly anticipated ‘cage fight’ with Mark Zuckerberg. In response to a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Musk explained that the date of the match is still uncertain because he needs to undergo an MRI of his neck and upper back and may need surgery, but he will know more about his condition by the end of the week.

“Exact date is still in flux. I’m getting an MRI of my neck & upper back tomorrow. May require surgery before the fight can happen. Will know this week,” wrote Musk. Zuckerberg, in a post on Threads, said “I’m ready today. I suggested Aug 26 when he first challenged, but he hasn’t confirmed. Not holding my breath.”

Musk had brought up the injury last year when he challenged Russian President Vladimir Putin to a “single combat” over Ukraine.

The talk of the town has been the proposed cage match between two billionaires since they agreed to it in June through social media posts. However, the buzz died down until Musk reignited it by posting about his weightlifting routine and saying that the Zuck vs. Musk fight would be live-streamed on X. Zuckerberg expressed uncertainty about whether the bout would actually take place.

Musk has stated that all proceeds from the live stream of the battle will be donated to charity for veterans, to which Zuckerberg agrees. However, he suggests that a more reliable platform should be used for the live stream.

In a different post, Musk said that he will go with “WWE” as his fighting style. Meanwhile, Zuckerberg is actually trained in mixed martial arts.

Asides the cage fight, the two billionaires have been fighting it out with Threads and X (formerly known as Twitter). In July, Meta introduced Threads, a microblogging platform, much similar to Musk’s X.
