10 Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Medusa in Assassin's Creed Odyssey

The Assassin’s Creed franchise has transformed over the years with the most recent titles such as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla both attempting to play like actual RPGs. This has led the franchise in a different direction to what many were used to though it has also opened the game up to other players.

Players that enjoyed Dragon’s Dogma are sure to enjoy their time in Odyssey due to the mythical bosses that can be found around the map that break up the main story that stays mostly in reality.

9 Wartales

The player and their party being attacked by bears in Wartales

Besides the horrific and challenging monsters players had likely fought during their time with Dragon’s Dogma; another feature many enjoyed about this Capcom title is the vast world players were free to explore that saw them visit multiple towns, kingdoms, and lairs of evildoers.

Wartales may be an RPG that uses a different style of combat but its large open world rivals that of Wartales as players adventure across a land set in the medieval with many more dangers to face. Players can also recruit companions like in Dragon’s Dogma to make their time on the road easier, but the challenge will still remain.

8 Monster Hunter Rise

Players don’t need to find a different developer to enjoy something else instead of Dragon’s Dogma as Capcom has made a variety of titles from those that play similar to the title to others that are nothing like it. Those that wish to remain gaming in a way that is like the RPG should look no further than Monster Hunter Rise.

Among the intense battles and large world to explore games like Dragon’s Dogma are also filled with incredible lore that makes the land the player is free to explore feel just as lively. Dragon’s Dogma isn’t the only role-playing game to achieve this as Divinity: Original Sin 2 is another title with an interesting world to explore that tells an intriguing story.

As another turn-based RPG, Divinity: Original Sin 2 does play different to Dragon’s Dogma, but this slight difference may make for a fresh experience away from the Capcom title while still entertaining the player.

6 Elden Ring

As mentioned Dragon’s Dogma has a wide variety of foes that require skill to take down the hardest of enemies; players that are looking for a further challenge after their time with this hack and slash title need to look no further than Elden Ring.

As a Soulsborne title, a player can expect to have their limits tested with both the average enemies and the large bosses they will need to face in order to make it to the end. While the difficulty jump may be harsh, Elden Ring has an open world to it unlike other Soulsborne titles that makes it far more freeing than the others.

5 Fable

In comparison to other RPGs Dragon’s Dogma isn’t one of the oldest titles with the original releasing in 2012. However, those that are looking for a classic role-playing experience that predates Dragon’s Dogma will find exactly what they are looking for with the original Fable title.

4 Diablo 4

Diablo is another franchise that has proceeded to entertain players over the years with the most recent release of Diablo 4 attracting even more players to the title. Action RPGs like Diablo can be just as entertaining as the hack and slash of Dragon’s Dogma as players are required to learn the best combo of abilities to quickly defeat their enemies.

Players can then take these skills they have learned through attacking regular enemies to then challenge themselves through the intense battles with world bosses that are sure to keep many players on their toes.

2 Dragon Age Inquisition

Continuing with the theme of dragons, Dragon Age is another RPG franchise that is a great fit for those that are looking for another title that is like Dragon’s Dogma. With a group of companions for the player to learn more about as well as a story that gives players various choices, Dragon Age Inquisition is an authentic role-playing game that will have players finishing it multiple times.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
